Is Not Yet free?
Yes. The core blocking, the code unlock, and your Quiet Place are all completely free on both Safari and Chrome, with no account required. A Safari-only Premium unlock adds Guard Mode, custom themes, a full recap, widgets, and more.
Does Not Yet collect my data?
No. Not Yet has no server and makes no network requests to us at all. Every setting, counter, and PIN hash stays on your own device. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Can I still buy something if I really mean to?
Yes, always. Not Yet is a friction tool, not a hard block: retyping the code, answering a reflection prompt, or waiting out a timer all let a purchase through, by design. It's meant to buy a moment of thought, not stop you outright.
What is Guard Mode?
A PIN you set yourself that protects your own settings from your own impulses, like turning off a category mid-browse. If a subscription ever lapses, Guard Mode stays fully on. Your own PIN always opens it, and a built-in master reset is the only other way in if you forget it.
What's on the recap page?
A summary of your own local activity: how many times you've paused, and what you chose not to spend, for free. Premium adds a weekly trend chart, a category breakdown of where pauses happen most, a log of your own mood and "proud of that" notes, and a shareable image.
What's the pinboard in the Quiet Place?
A Premium feature: pin your own photos to your Quiet Place so it actually feels like yours, drag to reposition, with backup and restore built in. The Quiet Place itself, its mood check-in, and its activities are free either way.
Is this a treatment program?
No. Not Yet is a pause and friction tool, not a substitute for professional financial, medical, or mental health advice. If you're dealing with compulsive spending or gambling and need more than a pause, please talk to a qualified professional or a relevant support organization.
Does it work the same in Chrome?
The core blocking is identical. Chrome ships as a single, fully free build with no Premium tier at all, since Chrome has no built-in way to sell an extension without standing up a license server, and Not Yet doesn't run one.
Does this work in Private Browsing or Incognito?
Not by default, and it's not something Not Yet can change on its own. Safari and Chrome both keep every extension out of a private window unless you turn that on yourself, for that extension specifically, the same rule for every extension, not just this one. The extension's own Setup & Help walks through the exact toggle on each browser if you want blocking to hold there too.
What if checkout has several steps?
Confirming a real purchase (the final "Are you sure?" screen, after the code, prompt, or timer) opens a short, fixed grace window on that one site, so a shipping page, a payment page, and a confirmation page don't each ask for a fresh pause. It's not a setting you can extend or turn on ahead of time, just a quiet acknowledgment that one purchase decision shouldn't repeat the same pause five times.
